Teaching art only 2 days a week could consume you, I've been there.
Don't let it take over your studio time.

Your idea for the reference photos turned out great. Good luck on your show, I'm sure you will do well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09893263258805543184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555538283837807387.post-9611498575967980622009-09-10T12:26:47.478-04:002009-09-10T12:26:47.478-04:00Hope you had a lovely birthday, Nicole. I think it's often not appreciated just how much work can go into setting up a good still life before the actual drawing process starts. Looking forward to seeing the artwork develop.Janet Pantryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10285095812008777246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555538283837807387.post-40749464444015255972009-09-09T23:04:39.789-04:002009-09-09T23:04:39.789-04:00Happy Birthday Nicole!

I find I don't often have the right shaped vase or the bowl is too deep, etc. Fruit on a board, maybe I can manage that. :-)

Two ways to pluck a chicken...humm, my mother always used to say "there is more than one way to skin a cat". I actually googled this phrase and she didn't make it up! I look forward to seeing your new still life work.Teresa Mallenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17978596700598817430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3555538283837807387.post-80174558632771758792009-09-09T20:57:37.891-04:002009-09-09T20:57:37.891-04:00Happy B-day.

Still life is not usually something think about when taking photos so it was quite interesting and edcational. I agree with you that setting up your groupings and taking the refernce photo in situ is much better but the wonders of photoshop are not to be ignored. Especially as the days are getting colder and rainy.

I'll be looking for progress on your apples and raspberry paintings ;0Bonnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07039818091584494715noreply@blogger.com
