OK I've got it in for Tim Fisher. His paper is amazing for achieving realism quickly and easily with colored pencils. I was NOT wanting to make any kind of switch of paper. I was happy and content doing my pieces on Pastelbord and hanging them without glass... now I'll be going back to glass with all of these, but look at what you can do with it!
I did this whole thing yesterday. It is life-size. & it isn't finished but very very close to being finished - just need to do the top and left side of the box all the way.
Sigh.... Mr. Fisher.....
Wow, Nicole, that's fast! Could you please provide a link to where I can get some Fisher paper please? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you're painting looks fantastic!!
Beautiful as always Nicole!
ReplyDeleteDid you ever do any research into mounting paper to board and sealing it (to be framed without glass)? I know you had a link to some instructions and a video a while back.
Hey, do those shoes look familiar?? I just love these 'in the box ' ones, please don't stop!
ReplyDeleteI will pass on your comments to Mr Fisher, Nicole - I am about to spend four days opposite him in a marquee at an arts festival!
ReplyDeletedo you work from photographs or real life displays??
ReplyDeleteNicole, your picture is just beautiful. When will we be able to get the wonderous Fisher paper in the United States and where??
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy! Here's the link http://www.thecsc.co.uk/ Its from the UK.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kasie - you know- I'm just afraid to because of the way the pencil sits on the board. The mounting would be fine but I'd be afraid of the varnishing on this paper. Its worth a try though for sure!
Thansk Deb!! Oh I don't plan on it! ;-) I've got WAY too many I want to do!! :-)
Bob make sure he knows I mean that in the nicest way! :-) Have fun at the festival!
Anonymous - boy I always think its funny when it says anonymous, lol. I usually work from photos, but I do work from life occasionally. These shoes were from a photograph I took.
I don't know, Artist 744, we must ask that man Tin Fisher! :-)
Beautiful work, Nicole. I like how the box motif has a new context in this painting. The shine on the red is wonderful.
