Colored Pencil Workshops and other classes

I know I haven't been doing that much art lately - have I? I will be. I am stuck on this idea of doing a still-life/self-portrait and I lost the photos I had of me when I lost my hard drive. The plan is to take some new ones today... with my 9 year old snapping the photos. Cross your fingers I'll get a good one. Or at least one that doesn't show off the nice wrinkle I have between my eyes from too much squinting - an old drawing injury.

So here is what else I've been spending my time doing (because my family knows it hasn't been spent doing the laundry). cLASSES!

I'm teaching a 5 week class at the Sharon Art Center in Peterborough, NH. This is one student working the initial stages of our first drawing.
& here are the peppers at the end of class. Aren't they marvelous! Most have never done colored pencil before!

Now these are a bit different. I have the pleasure of teaching art to kindergartners at the Keene Montessori School once a week. This project was done after looking at Georgia O'Keefe's paitings of New York City and was done with primary colors of paint and sponges.

& finally a couple pics of the workshop I taught on the cruise. I have to stretch out the pics/discussion of the cruise so it doesn't seem like I left that long ago. Can you tell I had a really good time?
& here are the grapes we worked on on the cruise at the end of class. Aren't they AMAZING!?

You must be a fantastic teacher for your students to get that kind of results. Love the previous post's piece. Beautiful!

I can attest that Nichole is a marvelous teacher. It’s not just about colored pencil. I have no “knowledge” of drawing. She can work with me in the same class as artists. The subjects are carefully planned as is the composition and lighting. She brings in examples of others work and shares her own.

I always learn a lot and have fun. Even with textures.

What a thrill it must be to introduce people to your passion and get such great results! So many people think they have no talent or creativity...on the other hand, if we let the secret out...then what? ;0)
