A little update from yesterday! I had to put the background in so I could do the glass. Without the background its hard to figure out what color to make showing through the glass.
I know this sounds kinda stupid considering how bright and colourful the flowers are, and how they're the stars of the show (and I do love them too) BUT, I LOVE that background.
Nicole, glad to see you are back posting and helping us all learn thru your comments/example! I think we were all getting a wee bit concerned about you...
This is a really lovely piece of art! Nothing like those tulips in the spring to lift the spirits! Coloursofts and F.C. ?? ampersand board?
Just returned from NH today! Terrible trip going there, spent the night in ORD!...too bad that airport isn't like the one in Colorado Springs...lovely art gallery in the terminals.
Thanks for including us in your working process! Pam

Good point about adding the background for reference for the glass. This is amazing.

Nicole, this is beautiful. Thank you for all the tips you share with us.
I like it varnished. I just drew my first CP drawing on pastelbord. I really like it. I usually work on black stonehenge.
