I am still fiddling with this, but just little bits like glazing complements and adjusting some values. If there is something you'd like to mention, go for it.
I made a mistake and transfered my line drawing too far over to the right - so this is how I am going to crop it - and now I'll have to buy a custom frame.
I thought I would also show you how I am setting up these still-lifes with a blue background. Luckily Target sells wrapping paper in plain colors. I just taped it up on the wall and draped it down the wall and over the table, then let the roll sit on the floor in front of the table. The result is a seamless blue.

So far I like the grapes in the other one better.
I like how the blue on the cup works and I can see the blue kinda go to the green/yellow of the pears in the background.
I was talking to an artist and mentioned I was taking a class with you. She said "I have never met her, she is a wizard with the colored pencils." I said “Yes she is.”
Beautiful Nicole!
That color just pops! :)
Can I say I know you?
Book, please.
What a great idea with the wrapping paper! Simple, and obvious once you suggest it ;-)
Appreciate your work and your sharing of it!
Hi Nicole... Wow the colors are so rich and they do command your attention, Beautiful job, of course.
Question, how do you like the Caran D'Ache Pablos compared to the Colorsoft? I am in love with the Caran D'Ache Supracolor(watersoluable) and thinking of trying the Pablos to go with my insane collection of Prismas, Polys, and all things Derwent. (I love the Studio line for the initial color layers).
Thanks Nicole. As always you are a great inspiration Oh yeah, what Casey said, too!
I like the subtle changes in light on the background blue :)
(and of course the rest! the reflected colours etc)
You have an extremely fine blog.
Stay on groovin’ safari,
Tor

Hi Michael - Glad you like it. :-) I added some more colors to some of the grapes, but I'm being too lazy to photograph it!
Thanks Kasie!
Thanks Casey- I'll let you know when I write that book. ;-)
Thanks Rose! I used it once before but it was silver polka dotted paper.
Denise - you know how it goes all pencils have their place. I really like Pablos. They are drier than some brands but don't skimp on the color intensity. They are really good for the last stages to tighten up edges and grain.
Thanks Vivien!
Nice to meet you Tor - love the groovy guy!
