I am finally finished with my hush hush project. OK not so hush hush because i did mention it before. Today I sent in my portrait book proposal to one publisher.... we'll see what happens!
& I am finally starting a drawing. No surprise it is a portrait. I worked a while back on a composition of a portrait in a winter scene, but I decided to use a different composition so the figure could be larger.
I still have a long way to go, but I thought you all deserved a post!
The end result will be about 27" x 33" which will make the figure just slightly below life-size.

Wow wow wow. I'm would be surprised if you were not offered a book deal with your wonderful talent. I would love to buy it so I could learn more about things like how you are able to render exquisite skin tone!
Good luck with the book proposal, Nicole!
Ok ~ what? ~ you're doing the cover for Shiver? I missed something here...
You go girl!
Keeping our best wishes coming your way for your proposal acceptance...did you send it in using colored pencils or did you include some of the pastel pencils as well?
Keep us posted...
Pam
I am sure the book proposal will be accepted. This piece is off to a beautiful start.
Thanks guys!!
Paula! no I wish I were doing the cover for Shiver - I'm just pretending on that! :-) I wrote up a book proposal for doing Portraits in my colored pencil technique.
Pam - just the colored pencils! I really use the same methodfor both... the pastels just behave differently.
Best of luck with the book proposal. A book about doing portraits on sanded supports would be something new, and I think it would be well received. Of course I'll want a signed copy!
