Sneak Peak Video

Here's a sneak peak of what I am working on today/tomorrow. I made one of these videos before and I think they give a little glimpse into what goes into composing a still-life. For me, it starts out with an idea, a format, and some objects and usually looks terrible at that beginning stage. Then I find something that works and keep that the same and change things around it until I hopefully get something good. Hope is very important in the process!

I also threw a few images of where this still-life is taking place... in a big mess and a terrible corner of my studio! Its amazing what cropping does!

That is very cool, however your studio doesn't hold a candle to mine for chaos. The last piece I did (one jar) I shot eighty photographs before I was satisfied with the shot - moving, turning, changing backdrop, turning light on, off, pulling shades, opening part way.

Your still life technique is outstanding.

Nice shot Nicole! The crop is so very YOU! When will the painting be done?

I got a good laugh out of that one...I was doing still life setups in my kitchen last night (don't ask), and there are still plates and platters and glasses and fabric and pieces of fruit strewn all over the counters and floor. I haven't even reveiewed my images yet.

Love your finished image, and I really enjoyed that video.

Mr. Cachet - Thank you. Actually I didn't put all the photos in the video, there were many more!!!

Thanks Nancy!! lol, I don't know when it will be finished. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend or at least before I work on Tuesday. This one has a lot of intricacies.

lol thanks Kim! I am very proud to say I made myself clean up after the whole still-life debacle on my studio floor right away. Part of my New Year's resolutions! I can't wait to see your new one. Make sure to post it on your blog!
